Union Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Jyotiraditya Scindia has been served a notice for violating the code. He used official stationery to write to voters in his constituency in Madhya Pradesh on government schemes.
Deputy Election Commissioner (DEC) R. Balakrishnan told journalists that though Mr. Scindia’s letter bore a date prior to the poll announcement (March 2), it was found during verification that they were dispatched when the code was in force.
Mr. Scindia has to reply by 3 pm on Wednesday.
