The Mathura district administration slapped a model code violation notice on Jaiveer Singh, a minister in Maya government. SUVs owned by
Singh had red beacon light and two hooters, the use of which is prohibited during the election period.
As per relevant sections of the model code of conduct, "A minister or political functionary is not to use pilot car
, car with beacon lights of any colour, car affixed with sirens of any kind whether on private or official visit once the model code of conduct kicks in. The ban exists even if the state administration has granted him a security cover requiring presence of armed guards to accompany him on such visit. This prohibition is applicable whether the vehicle is government owned or private owned."
